Summary
The Sr. Director, Program Strategy and Optimization for the Payor Relationships & Reimbursement team is responsible for leading department strategies to optimize program management across Revenue Cycle Management (RCM), Market Access, and Government Affairs. Reporting to the Senior Vice President of Payor Relations & Reimbursement, this role works cross-functionally across the organization to influence operational excellence and continuous improvement to deliver best-in-class outcomes to maximize reimbursement, elevate market access relationships and drive effective government affairs.
Job Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership & Vision
- Develop and implement departmental goals for RMC optimization, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
- Lead the execution of annual plans for revenue cycle improvements, focusing on measurable financial and operational results.
People Management & Talent Development
- Directly manage and mentor managers and team leads across billing, market access, government affairs, with influence on client services, product & technology, and operations.
- Build high-performing teams through recruitment, coaching, professional development, and succession planning.
- Foster a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement.
Cross-Functional & Executive Collaboration
- Coordinate cross-functional teams to implement process improvements, best practices, and technology solutions for program optimization.
Operational Excellence
- Drive adoption of new processes and technologies, ensuring timely and accurate reporting and analytics.
- Oversee the implementation of data-driven solutions, ensuring timely and accurate reporting, analytics, and performance measurement.
Stakeholder Engagement & Communication
- Act as the primary liaison for internal and external stakeholders, ensuring alignment on program objectives, progress, and outcomes across Market Access, RCM, and Government Affairs.
- Present regular updates to senior leadership, highlighting key metrics, risks, and strategic recommendations.
Risk Management & Compliance
- Proactively identify and mitigate risks, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards across all program domains.
- Resolve or escalate issues promptly to minimize impact on project timelines and organizational goals.
Education, Experience, and Skills
- Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree in business, healthcare administration, public policy, or related field strongly preferred.
- 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in program management and financial/reimbursement systems related to laboratory and/or healthcare reimbursement
- Demonstrated success in managing teams, driving organizational change, and delivering strategic results.
- Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and influencing skills.
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional initiatives in a complex, fast-paced environment.
