The Impact You’ll Make in this Role

As an Executive Recruiting Senior Manager, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:

  • Strategy Development and Execution: Consults with the SVP, Global Talent, to set strategic direction for executive recruiting.  Partner with the VP of Talent and Performance Management to gain insight and data into executive-level talent acquisition needs based on succession and talent review outcomes.  Partner with VP, Global Talent Acquisition, on strategic workforce planning processes to ensure proper integration.
  • Candidate profiling: Partners with senior leadership to define role requirements, identify candidate profiles and capabilities, and align recruitment strategies with organizational goals.
  • Executive Search Firm Selection  & Management: Develops and maintains relationships with external search firm vendors to optimize our executive talent acquisition strategy.  Monitors firm performance against agreed-upon metrics and service level agreements. 
  • Candidate Sourcing and Search: This role will occasionally conduct external research and sourcing to develop custom pipelines and perform some candidate calling to solicit interest in 3M. 
  • Interview Management: Conduct thorough candidate assessments, including initial screening interview or candidate interview preparation. Facilitate interview debrief sessions.  
  • Talent Engagement: Actively engage with executive candidates during the selection process, providing a superior candidate experience and fostering 3M’s reputation in the marketplace.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Collaborates with relevant stakeholders, such as hiring managers, HRBPs, search firm contacts, candidates, and Compensation and Benefits partners, to manage the end-to-end process.
  • Process Improvement: Continuously evaluate and enhance recruitment processes to improve efficiency and candidate experience, leveraging technology and analytics where applicable.
  • Market Intelligence: Stay informed about industry trends, competitor talent movements, and market conditions to provide strategic insights and recommendations for talent acquisition.
  • Data Analytics and Reporting: Regularly update and report to senior leadership on recruitment progress and metrics.
  • Executive Forecasting and Strategic Workforce Planning: Assess, design, and build strategic workforce methodology and plans for executive roles.  Maintain connectedness to the executive succession planning, using the output as forecast.

Your Skills and Expertise 

To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited university.
  • Eight (8) years of Human Resources experience in a private, public, government, or military environment.
  • Four (4) years of Talent Acquisition experience working with executive leadership

  • Proven experience in executive recruitment, preferably within a corporate environment.
  • Strong organizational, project, and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Knowledge of recruitment best practices and vendor management.
  • Proven track record of successfully placing executive-level candidates.
  • Experience working in multinational environments with global processes and matrix structures.
  • Ability to strike the right balance between speed/flexibility and process/compliance.
  • Ability to engage in strategic business matters at both the conceptual and tactical levels.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with proven ability to take initiative and build strong, productive relationshi
