The Position
Our team is growing, and we are on the hunt for a Laboratory Operations Associate that will enable our drug discovery efforts through providing service and support to our research teams.
As a Laboratory Operations Associate, you will serve as a point-of-contact for lab related needs including inventory control, ordering and distribution of all laboratory consumables and supplies, equipment maintenance and cleaning, housekeeping for all research labs, maintaining electronic records, and building relationships with vendors and suppliers as needed. You will provide timely support to scientists and bring a solution-focused mindset to helping solve their issues. You will also partner closely with the Associate Director of Lab Operations on different ad hoc projects and process improvement initiatives.

- Managing the consumables inventory program (biology, chemistry) and providing daily support of lab consumables at point of use stations throughout the labs
- Attending to the loading dock and receive research materials, general lab consumables, or scientific staff purchases and notifying lab users accordingly
- Assist scientific staff with preparation of common use buffers, aliquoting reagents, research materials electronic and freezer inventories, as needed
- Responsible for glass wash and autoclave workflows
- Responsible for general laboratory housekeeping and organization
- Organize general laboratory clean-ups with research staff
- Organize general lab clean ups or decontaminations with appropriate vendors and service providers
- Manage weekly delivery of compressed gases to support CO2, LN2 and other compressed gases needs of chemistry and biology equipment. Ensure house CO2 distribution system’s proper maintenance
- Responsible for lab shipments while maintaining safe shipping and handling standards
- Ensure staff compliance with standard operating procedures and laboratory best practice
- Build relationships with service providers, vendors and suppliers as needed
- Maintain electronic inventory of chemicals and Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS)
- Maintain organization and housekeeping of the tissue culture suites (water baths, incubators, BSCs)
- Maintain up to date permits, trainings and certifications related to the role
- Participate in the management and supervision of critical equipment remote alarm systems (ex: Tetrascience) and serve as a member of 24-hr emergency response team
- Drive continuous improvement in all aspects of laboratory operations
- Assist the Associate Director of Lab Operations with other ad-hoc duties and projects and assist with ad-hoc tasks in support of research teams

- High School Diploma and 2 years of relevant work experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
- Experience with customer service required
- Strong collaborator who communicates in an open, thorough, timely, consistent and professional manner
- Able to work in a fast-paced and team-oriented environment
- Must have a positive attitude and be a committed team player
- Should be proficient with common software and have strong Microsoft Office skills
