Overview:
The Project Manager's (PM) main responsibility is managing the overall scope, cost and schedule for the home furnishings design program. Provide management of the overall process of the project delivery from the initial design contract through the turnover and delivery of the completed project. Attention must be given to client communications and being proactive with the client on scope, cost, and schedule, during the course of the project. PM is responsible for the establishment, monitoring and reporting of the financial performance of the project.
The Project Manager should act in a “Servant Leadership” role. Guiding the project teams and ensuring that everyone has what they need to deliver their assigned scope, tasks, and responsibilities. Holding the team members accountable for their deliverables, by making sure that they have the right tools and the authority to make decisions for the best interest of the project.
Responsibilities:
- Lead team through project design development aligned with scope and cost.
- Responsible for regular communications with Client on project status and issues, keep project moving.
- Ensuring that the project team stays informed of the clients, needs, wants and desires for their project.
- Ensure accurate tracking of budget, cost, forecast and schedule.
- Working with the Project Interior Designer for the development and tracking of the project design schedule, with the use of the work plan/task list.
- Ensure all project documentation, contracts, invoices, etc. are established and maintained by the team.
- Provide leadership and management of internal team and client to successfully deliver Atelier design projects with clients happy about their product, cost, and schedule outcomes.
- Managing and working with all departments making up the project team, during the respective phase of the project.
- Following up with the team to ensure that all deliverables are being completed in accordance with the project schedule.
- Management of the Atelier Design contract and trade contracts
- Meeting or exceeding internal and external client expectations.
- Coordination with construction on the status of turnover schedule.
Requirements
- Proven experience in Project Management
- Background in working with project teams from the start of the design phase through the completion of the install phase.
- The preferred candidate will have PMP Certification or other equivalent Project Management training.
- Degree in business, management, design, or architecture is preferred.
- Experience with project financial reporting, risk management, and development of design schedules.
- Superior analytical and organizational skills
- Drive to achieve and produce results on time.
- A working knowledge of client contracts and trade contracts.
- Be proficient in the use of MS Office software, scheduling software, etc.
- Should understand the fundamentals of estimating tools, scheduling tools, Excel and accounting reports.
