Senior Systems Administrator

HOW A Senior Systems Administrator WILL MAKE AN IMPACT:

• Responsible for the design, implementation, management and support of the organizations network infrastructure to ensure optimal performance, security and reliability of the network.

 

• Provides analysis related to the design, development, and integration of hardware, software, human-machine interfaces and all system level requirements provide an integrated IT solution.to

•    Demonstrated experience performing trend analysis on overall system health, performance, and capacity management with regard to utilization and

Growth.
•    Performs software upgrades, patch installs, firmware upgrades then test for functionality on a periodic basis.
•    Demonstrated knowledge of the following infrastructure principles: Fault tolerance, High availability, Scalability and Capacity planning, Data center organization, Backup / Recovery
•    Maintain server configuration baselines and configuration compliance against baseline/benchmarks
•    Collaborate with Application Teams to perform system maintenance and patch management tasks
•    Interfaces with other engineering teams to adapt performance management tool capabilities to meet operational requirements.
•    Assists with analysis using enterprise tool solutions and other tools to detect and respond to IT events, incidents, and outages.
•    Work with others engineers to establish and modify thresholds to better monitor systems.
•    Invents innovative ways to drive production operational efficiency
•    Drives scalability and operability of supported systems/infrastructure
•    Uses subject matter expertise to diagnose and solve issues and has authority to deviate from standard operating procedures.
•    Collaborates with cross functional teams to ensure successful project delivery.

• WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:
  •    Education: Master’s Degree (Substitutions will be based on additional years of experience)
  •    Required Experience: 15+ years of related experience 
  •    Required Technical Skills: VMware vCenter/ESXi, Windows Hyper-V, and Nutanix AHV. Performance Metrics, System Engineering, Network Design;

• PowerShell, Batch, VBScript, Kix, AutoIt, Bash, and Terraform
• Perform system management and maintenance to ensure stability, security, and compliance using assorted tools including WSUS, SCCM, Altiris, and BigFix.

•  Red Hat (RHEL 6 and 7) and CentOs (6 and 7) Linux servers.
•    Security Clearance Level: DOE Q (Minimum TS clearance)

• •    Required Skills and Abilities: Written and Oral Communication; Organization, Problem Solving, Communication, Technical Documentation, and Teamwork.

•    Location: Albuquerque, NM or Germantown, MD (onsite)

The likely salary range for this position is $148,750 - $201,250. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set
