Summary

The Sr. Proposal Manager plays a key role as a member of the RFP and Proposal Management Office, which is responsible for responding to RFPs and developing proposals that reflect a powerful and consistent NFP image. The Sr. Proposal Manager is the primary contact for the RFP response. They plan the proposal process, assign tasks, edit responses and ensure the proposal is accurate, complete, compliant and submitted on time. The ability to meet deadlines, strong writing skills, a commitment to teamwork, and detailed follow-through, will be the key to success in this role.

The Sr. Proposal Manager must be proficient, disciplined and able to conduct complex, important work under minimal supervision and with latitude for independent judgment. This position reports to the SVP, RFP and Proposal Management Office and works closely with individuals at all levels of the organization to complete assignments.

Responsibilities

  •  Coordinate the proposal response schedule to ensure the timely and compliant development, production, and delivery of all response documents/forms; track all RFPs from draft to submission to outcome
  •  Organize and lead proposal meetings ensuring a response strategy is established and a timely project plan is implemented for both responses for proposals and questionnaires
  •  Coordinate with other members of the RFP and Proposal Management Office, business development professionals, subject matter experts, and other team members to develop winning proposals
  •  Lead and participate in the writing, editing, organization, and formatting of proposal submissions
  • Communicate effectively with leadership and staff throughout the entire lifecycle of the proposal, both pre- and post-RFP
  •  Ensure the RFP response corresponds directly to the individual requirements of the client/prospect request to provide a timely and compliant submission
  •  Create a compelling and persuasive impression of NFP’s experience and capabilities in all submissions including solution differentiators, (e.g., NFP’s value proposition, appropriate references, supporting documentation, etc.)·
  •  Ensure responses are developed following NFP’s established standards, processes, and procedures
  • Provide a quality assurance check for all document deliverables
  • Track and report proposal win/non-win information to help evaluate the performance of our business development proposal process
  •  Document and analyze lessons learned to improve processes
  •  Collaborate with subject matter experts to create new content, when necessary ·
  •  Serve as lead editor and writer of each assigned proposal, including, but not always limited to: Review and editing of materials for compliance, message, completeness, grammar, and formatting
  •  Develop and maintain business and technical knowledge relevant to NFP
  •  Perform all other responsibilities as assigned or as required

 

Qualifications

  •  Strong project management skills and the ability to independently define, schedule, and manage the proposal preparation process, including the ability to understand RFP requirements
  •  Experience responding to formal RFx requests and working knowledge of complying with applicable process, response, legal, and compliance requirements
  •  Outstanding communication skills (written and oral) and expert working knowledge of the entire Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Teams, and OneNote, plus SharePoint required
  •  Background in the development of custom strategic content (leveraging strategic messaging/value propositions) and strong editing skills required
