Our Senior Accountant is responsible for having a detailed knowledge of the financial and accounting systems and processes for the assigned business units. Our Senior Accountant will make assignments and review and manage the work of assigned staff accountants. This position is based in Nashville, TN at our corporate offices. Relocation assistance and sponsorship are not available.
Duties include but are not limited to:
Ensure that tasks assigned to staff accountants are completed within established deadlines and in conformance with defined accounting policies and procedures
Perform original work on more complex accounting issues and transactions
Recommend changes in process and procedures
Develop reporting tools and metrics to identify trends in financials
Provide development and training of assigned Staff Accountants
Provide level one review of work performed by Staff Accountants
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications needed include:
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting - Education may be substituted for partial work experience
3+ years' professional work experience in Accounting or Auditing with progressive increase in responsibilities and complexity of assignments. Full GL Accounting experience required
Public Accounting and/or healthcare provider financial operations preferred
Solid understanding of GAAP including revenue recognition principles sufficient to ensure compliance with corporate accounting policies
Advanced software systems experience including all MS Office Suite products, Excel, Vision and project management software as well as accounting ERP systems and software.
