Job Description
As part of Adtalem's Elevate team, the Senior Manager is responsible for overseeing all regulatory approval processes related to state and territory Boards of Nursing for both new and existing campuses. This key position involves building and maintaining strong relationships with state nursing boards and regulatory staff while serving as the primary liaison for campus presidents during the approval process. The Senior Manager will work closely with the Director of Programmatic and Institutional Accreditation to ensure compliance with accreditation and regulatory standards.
In this role you will:
- Cultivate and maintain proactive relationships with state regulatory agencies in preparation for new campus launches.
- Represent the institution to regulatory agencies in support of new campus development and changes to existing campus programs.
- Manage the state nursing board approval process, ensuring timely documentation submissions, site visits, and responses for both new and existing campus programs.
- Collaborate with the editorial and writing teams to prepare and submit self-studies, applications, and reports to meet state nursing board requirements for undergraduate prelicensure programs.
- Partner with the College’s corporate licensing and compliance departments to ensure timely and accurate resolution of regulatory and licensing issues.
- Serve as a key resource for the organization’s compliance department on issues related to state nursing board approvals.
- Provide input and guidance on undergraduate prelicensure curriculum development, ensuring alignment with state and professional organization requirements.
- Assess qualifications of employees at new and established campuses, including reviewing campus president candidates to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations.
- Lead the formation and coordination of new campus and online advisory committees, providing ongoing support and attending meetings as needed.
- Contribute to the development and submission of professional accreditation change reports to support campus growth and development.
- Facilitate mock self-assessment activities and provide coaching for faculty and staff on accreditation and regulatory approval processes.
- Serve on committees focused on regulatory compliance and offer insights into new campus development.
- Ensure fair and consistent application of student and academic policies to comply with federal, state, and local regulations, accreditation standards, and nursing practices.
- Travel as needed to fulfill key responsibilities and obligations.
- Perform additional duties as assigned and contribute to the continuous improvement of regulatory processes.
Qualifications
- Master’s Degree in Nursing (required); PhD in Nursing or a related field (preferred).
- At least 5 years of teaching and/or management experience in a higher education environment, with expertise in assessment, accreditation, and regulatory approval processes (required).
- Proven ability to establish and cultivate positive relationships with state regulatory agency personnel.
- Strong critical thinking skills with the ability to interpret and navigate complex or ambiguous state requirements.
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational, writing, editing, and computer skills.
