BGE goes beyond competitive benefits to attract and retain the best in an environment that inspires excellence.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>&nbsp;</p></div><p>&nbsp;</p> <p>Field Archaeologist - Temporary Project Based&nbsp; - <strong>Houston, TX </strong>Office and the surrounding areas.</p> <p>Temporary position (no benefits offered): you may work 40 hours + some weeks and 0 another week</p> <h2>Job Responsibilities</h2> <ul> <li value="1">Conduct phase one archaeological surveys including pedestrian surveys and shovel testing to identify presence or absence of cultural resources.</li> <li value="2">Assist with excavation and trenching activities as needed, primarily in Texas and surrounding regions (Possibly Oklahoma)</li> <li value="3">Collect and document field data using tablets, GPS devices, and maintain detailed photo logs.</li> <li value="4">Support preparation of reports, background research, and site documentation for archaeological projects.</li> <li value="5">Collaborate with project leads and team members to ensure accurate data collection and compliance with regulatory requirements.</li> <li value="6">Participate in fieldwork under the guidance of experienced crew chiefs, with opportunities for mentorship and skill development.</li> <li value="7">Communicate findings and technical information clearly to project managers and team members.</li> <li value="8">Maintain proficiency in Microsoft Office and data entry; GIS experience is a plus.</li> <li value="9">Adhere to safety protocols and carry out fieldwork in various weather conditions, often requiring travel within North Texas and occasionally to other states.</li> </ul> <h2>Job Requirements</h2> <ul> <li value="1">Career focus on cultural resources fieldwork in archaeological surveys or related environmental studies.</li> <li value="2"><
