In the medical and pharmaceutical market, Corbion  is the market leader in the production of resorbable polymers and high-strength, degradable biocomposites for the medical device and pharmaceutical industry.  Our resorbable polymers and biocomposites are used to produce orthopedic implants, drug delivery systems, and wound closure applications.  We are now hiring a Maintenance Mechanic for our facility in Tucker, GA.

 

As our next Maintenance Mechanic, you will maintain and troubleshoot the repair of electro-mechanical industrial production equipment, and support equipment which includes: computerized Building Maintenance System (BMS), air handlers, chillers, air compressors, roof exhaust fans, Roof HVAC package units, vacuum pumps, diaphragm pumps, and centrifugal pumps.

 

Responsibilities 

  • Preventative maintenance (PM),  troubleshoot and repair of electro-mechanical industrial production equipment and building support equipment.
  • Utilize safety procedures: NFPA 70E Arc Flash and PPE requirements, OSHA requirements to include LOTO, fall protection and Basic Safety precautions and procedures
  • Perform basic welding, stainless steel fabrication, pipe fitting/ drilling / tapping and other machine shop skills as needed.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical issues, electrical issues and instrumentation using Multimeters, Clamp on Amp Meters and repair as needed.
  • Order supplies for repair of equipment, fabrication projects and spare parts.
  • Work with other departments and teams as needed to facilitate overall operational improvements.
  • Log completed preventive maintenance (PM), inspections and work orders into a computerized maintenance software (CMMS) such as SAP or Assetwise.
  • Repair and maintain building and facility plumbing fixtures, lights, ceiling tiles etc.
  • Other duties as determined by business needs.

 

Qualifications

  • Associate Degree in Industrial Maintenance/similar field (preferred) OR equivalent military training with experience OR trade school diploma with 3+ years' experience, preferably in an automated batch chemical processing environment.
  • 5+ years of experience with troubleshooting using PLCs, RSLOGIX 500, 5000 etc.
  • Must be familiar with building service equipment: air handlers, water heaters, low pressure boilers, air compressors, HVAC package units (understand basic refrigeration circuit).  Universal refrigeration license is a plus.
  • Experience in a pharma or medical device facility, clean room environment, or food production is highly preferred.
  • Familiar with pumps, motors, blowers, gearboxes, tanks, mixers, lubrication, etc.
  • Able to troubleshoot industrial electrical issues, use necessary electrical test equipment and have the ability to repair.
  • Basic welding, machine shop and fabrication skills
  • Able to read electrical prints, and can recognize electrical devices in an electrical control panel including PLC components.
  • Computer skills (EXCEL, WORD, SCADA).
  • Able to work independently, as well as a part of a cross functional team.
  • Must be procedure oriented.
  • Experience with Standard Operational Procedures (SOP), Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Good Documentation Practices (GDP) is a plus.
