Job Description
Fortune Brands is seeking a Lead IT Application Analyst for Blue Yonder WMS to join our team. This role will serve as the technical subject matter expert (SME) and functional leader for the BY WMS within the IT team. This Lead IT Application Analyst is responsible for the configuration, customization, maintenance, and support of the Blue Yonder WMS application to optimize supply chain, distribution, and warehouse operations. This lead position will bridge the gap between IT, distribution center (DC) operations, and external vendors, driving system enhancements, implementations, and troubleshooting complex issues.
Location: This position is eligible to work in a hybrid environment out of our Deerfield, IL Headquarters.
Key Responsibilities:
- System Configuration and Technical Leadership
- Configure, customize, maintain, and support Blue Yonder WMS functionality.
- Develop components, scripts, and trace files to diagnose and resolve identified issues.
- Support Blue Yonder interfaces between WMS, ERP (i.e., Oracle), and Material Handling Equipment (MHE / WCS / WES).
- Migrate legacy WMS applications over to the Blue Yonder solution.
- Project Management and Implementation
- Lead technical aspects of WMS upgrades, rollouts, and new site implementations.
- Define requirements, design solutions, and perform gap analysis to translate business needs into technical specs.
- Coordinate System Integration Testing (SIT), User Acceptance Testing (UAT), and Go-Live Cutover activities.
- Support and Optimization
- Provide Level 2/3 functional and technical support for production environments managing P1/P2 incidents.
- Perform root-cause analysis (RCA) on system incidents and implement preventative measures.
- Act as an IT liaison for DC sites operating on Blue Yonder.
- Identify opportunities for automation and system enhancements to drive operation efficiency.
- Coordinate support from other internal IT teams and external vendors.
- Mentorship and Governance
- Mentor and guide junior analysts and offshore team members on BY WMS functionality and best practices.
- Maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including system design and technical solution documents.
- Ensure adherence to SDLC and IT change management protocols to manage risk.
Qualifications
Core Competencies:
- Technical Expertise: Deep knowledge of BY WMS architecture and table structures.
- Analytical Problem-Solving: Ability to resolve complex technical issues under tight deadlines.
- Leadership: Experience leading teams and managing high-impact projects.
Required:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Supply Chain Management, or equivalent experience.
- Experience: 9+ years of experience in IT applications support, specifically 5+ years hands-on experience with Blue Yonder (JDA) WMS along with integration with ERP, WCS, and WES applications.
- Technical Skills: Deep knowledge of SQL, Unix/Linux environments, and Web Services (API, REST).
- Domain Knowledge: Strong understanding of warehouse operations (receiving, putaway, picking, shipping, etc.), inventory control, and distribution.
- Soft Skills: Proven ability to lead projects, manage vendor relationships, and communicate effectively with non-technical business stakeholders.
- Willing to travel approximately 25% travel.
