Job Summary:

JOB SUMMARY
Completes timely and accurate credentialing and privileging of providers with minimal guidance. Ensures that credentialing records comply with requirements of regulatory and accrediting agencies including Centers for Medicare/Medicaid Services, the Joint Commission, and the National Committee for Quality Assurance, federal and state laws and delegated credentialing agreements.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Responsible for completing the credentialing process for all members of the medical staff, professional staff and allied health professionals which includes appointment, reappointment, and/or clinical privileging in accordance with the VCS credentialing program.
• Verifies that all individuals credentialed and/or granted clinical privileges are qualified and competent to provide patient care services based upon validation of the scope of their education, training, licensure, and experience.
• Independently analyzes that the credentialing functions performed by the CVO remain current, complete, and accurate prior to all credentialing and/or clinical privileging decisions.
• Processes requests for additional clinical privileges and status changes in accordance with the VCS credentialing program through the appropriate services and Medical Staff committees. (Credentials Committee, Medical Executive Committee, and Board of Directors).Understands and performs credentialing functions for all applicants in accordance with all regulatory requirements and the VCS credentialing program.
• Analyzes data and information and escalates concerns in a timely and appropriate manner to avert negative situations which might impact patient care/safety within the organization
• Collaborate and interface with medical staff leaders, credentialing contacts and external organizations to mitigate delays in patient access due to delays in obtaining required credentialing data/information.
• Ensures appropriate peer review protected information is maintained securely and easily retrievable upon request by regulators/surveyors.

TECHNICAL CAPABILITIES
• Discretion & Privacy (Advanced): The ability to use and keep information confidential in a secure setting.
• CVO Policies and Procedures (Intermediate): Knowledge, adherence and application of CVO policies and procedures.
• Data Entry (Advanced): The ability to transcribe information from the original source into an electronic system according to written and verbal instructions efficiently and accurately.
• Analytical Skills (Expert): The process of identifying, evaluating, interpreting and organizing data. It includes sorting through data to identify patterns and establish relationships for decision making.
