Adult Services Librarian-Full-Time - Union Township Branch

Responsibilities: Provides direct library service to people of all ages, especially adults. Responsible for supervision and operation of the branch in the absence of the Branch Manager. Interprets library policies and procedures, answers reference and reader's advisory questions, and maintains a working knowledge of the collection and library services. Leads the adult programming team and develops, plans and conducts a variety of innovative programs for adult and intergenerational audiences both in the library and as outreach to the community. Provides computer instruction to the public including downloadable eMaterials. Assists library users at the circulation desk using the library automated circulation system to circulate materials and other circulation related duties, and shelves materials as necessary.
Requirements: A four-year college degree and completion of an MLS degree from an ALA accredited program. Strong interpersonal and leadership skills desired. Experience using computers including electronic devices required. Two years of supervisory experience preferred. Must be able to work days, evenings, and weekends. Required to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check.
Rate: Minimum $19.50 per hour
Pay Grade 5, non-exempt
Full-time (40 hrs/wk)
