Position Overview

The Illinois Department of Corrections is looking for a highly driven Office Assistant for the Mailroom at Logan Correctional Center.  The individual in this role will perform a variety of difficult clerical duties including inspecting all incoming and outgoing mail.  The ideal candidate is self-motivated, task oriented, has excellent organizational skills, has the physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds, and be mobile much of the workday.  Additionally, the candidate selected for this position will perform a variety of responsible clerical and office support functions requiring independent judgment and action.  This would include record processing, operating common office equipment, and processing outgoing and incoming mail for individuals in custody.  An extensive knowledge of office practices, procedures, and programs would be a plus for our ideal candidate.  If interested in this unique opportunity at Logan Correctional Center, please follow the instructions on the posting to apply.
