Pay 13 

Reports To: Director of Catering Services

Salary: $85,000 - $100,000

Job Summary

As the Director of Special Events for a premier corporate client, you'll serve as the main point of contact for  for special events. In this role, you'll work directly with our clients planning outstanding on-premise events.

 

Work schedule is Monday through Friday and hours will vary depending on event schedule (primarily daytime hours). The position entails a need for excellent attention to detail and communication skills and the ability to multi-task on a variety of projects simultaneously.

 

Key Responsibilities:

Develops and implements service standards for small and large special events across different sites in NYC
Plans menus, layout, decor, and booking entertainment (when appropriate) for catered events.
Manages the event budget from the initial stage and provides after event summary and cost
Collaborates and supports Director of Catering Services and Executive Chef in planning events
Identifies client/guest needs and interacts in a positive, proactive manner
Maintains accurate tracking and billing systems for catered events
Disseminates information to all concerned department heads and staff members through preparation and distribution of detailed function sheets at regularly scheduled intervals
Other duties as assigned

 

Qualifications:
Strong knowledge of food and industry trends
Minimum of 3 years of experience in managing catering events in a high volume, luxury F&B environment
ServSafe certification, recommended
Superior communication and problem-solving/strategizing skills
Excellent computer skills with advanced knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint
Conformity to the highest standards of personal integrity and ethical behavior
