Occ Summary

Plan and provide advanced and/or specialized nur sing care for patientsin accordance with guidelines established within t he Discipline ofNursing Clinical Ladder Program; participate in educatio nal activities,departmental committees, research projects or other healt h relatedprojects as assigned. Provide nursing services to patients and familiesin accordance with the scope of the RN as defined by the North C arolinaBoard of Nursing.


Work Performed

Identify care needs for patient populations at the unit level. Provideleadership in t he development of standards of care, patient/familyeducation and staff e ducation to address the needs of specificpopulations.Participate in educ ational activities, departmental committees, researchprojects and other health-related projects as assigned.Provide direction and guidance in th e proper use, care and control ofmaterial resources; appraise quality an d effectiveness of material andequipment and communicateto responsible individuals.Anticipate potential safety concerns in the environment of c are andintervene.Guide the professional growth of others at the unit lev el throughprecepting, role modeling, coaching and/or mentoring.Provide l eadership at a unit level for initiatives designed to improvethe quality of care or clinical outcomes for populations of patients andgrowth of o thers.Perform other related duties incidental to the work described here in.
