The world needs sustainable batteries, and we need to recycle them once they reach their end-of-life.</p> <p><br/> The Batteries business unit is an industrial venture arm of Hydro. We aim to develop leading sustainable battery material businesses in Europe by active investments together with complementary industrial and financial partners in the battery value chain. Since 2020 we have deployed 1,6 billion NOK of capital into the battery space.</p> <p><br/> We are now looking to hire two commercially driven business developers to take on and further develop our asset portfolio in industrializing, scaling, and commercializing innovative solutions and technologies within the sustainable battery materials space.</p> <p> </p> <p>We offer:</p> <ul> <li>A great opportunity to make hands-on efforts with strategic impact, shaping the international battery sector through cooperations, long term investments and industrial ownership.</li> <li>Access to Hydro’s solid industrial experience paired with a start-up/scale-up pace and mindset.</li> <li>A highly competent, fun, diverse, and dynamic working environment.</li> </ul> <p> </p> <p>Responsibilities<br/> In this role, you will:</p> <ul> <li>Identify, negotiate, and manage strategic partnerships to position Hydro Batteries for capturing growth opportunities with the highest value uplift potential. Partners are typically original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) in the automotive industry as well as industrial and financial players along the entire battery value chain.</li> <li>Further develop and execute on our strategic portfolio development plan and contribute to further growing and building portfolio optionality for Hydro’s battery engagement based on targeted market- and industry analysis.</li> <li>Build and maintain relationships with key internal stakeholders, as well as existing and potential strategic and financial partners.</li> <li>Close collaboration with asset owners to contribute to the development of projects and support on identified value creation efforts. </li> <li>Support management in the assets on their commercialization journey and go-to-market approach as a strategic advisor.</li> <li>Build, maintain, and enlarge networks within the battery space and adjacent industries to capture new industry trends.</li> <li>Represent Hydro Batteries at industry events and act as an advocate for the new way of developing the battery value chain through industrial cooperations.  </li> </ul> <p> </p> <p>Qualifications<br/> To succeed in this role, we believe that you have:</p> <ul> <li>Minimum 5-7 years of relevant experience from industrial asset portfolio development and/or industrial asset investment processes.</li> <li>Experience from negotiations at a strategic level and a track record of successful business development and stakeholder management, preferably in an international setting. </li> <li>A background from the battery value chain, the wider recycling or the automotive industry can be an advantage, but experience from investment banking, commodities trading or successful industrial scaling are equally relevant.</li> <li>A proven strong commercial mindset, with the ability to create compelling business cases and develop partnerships that create value.</li> <li>Skills in building and maintaining strong, trust-based relationships.</li> <li>Excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities.Master’s degree in e.g. business, industrial economics, engineering.</li> <li>Strong communication skills and a structured and delivery-oriented way of working.</li> </ul> <p> </p> <p>Additional information<br/> You will report to a Vice President in Batteries. The position is in Oslo/Norway and will require international business travels of approximately 30 days per year.</p> <p> </p> <p>We are driven by our purpose.
