Senior Software Engineer

The Senior Programmer will lead the California Natural Resource Agency, (CNRA) architecture, design, development, and modernization of complex web applications, leveraging modern frameworks and best practices to transform legacy systems. The position involves mentoring junior staff, advancing web accessibility, and developing scalable solutions using Microsoft technologies.

This position is being submitted as part of a response to a Request for Proposal (RFP). Employment is contingent upon contract award. If awarded, the expected period of performance will be July 2025 through June 2028.

What You'll Do:

• Lead full-stack development and integration for mission-critical CNRA systems
• Design scalable and secure solutions using .NET, Blazor/Silverlight, and JavaScript
• Build custom components and data pipelines to automate workflows
• Implement CMS improvements and responsive websites using Sitecore and WordPress
• Ensure compliance with WCAG 2.0, ADA 508, and web best practices
• Perform application troubleshooting, system optimization, and accessibility remediation
• Mentor junior developers and coordinate documentation and knowledge transfer

What You'll Bring:

• Meets MSA classification for Senior Programmer; education and experience validated
• 5+ years of Microsoft full-stack development and JavaScript frameworks
• 3+ years developing Silverlight or Blazor-based systems
• 3+ years designing responsive, accessible web apps and mobile interfaces
• Experience with GIS map applications, low-code (OutSystems), and XHTML/CSS/JS integration
• 3+ years working with Sitecore and/or WordPress platforms, including content accessibility remediation
• Familiar with ARIA, AJAX, HTML accessibility techniques, and tools like WAVE
• 2+ years building automated data pipelines and visual dashboards
• Ability to meet multiple Staff Technical Requirements individually and support collective compliance
