This role follows a hybrid model to accommodate business needs while maintaining team collaboration.
Summary:
The Engineering, CAPEX & Facilities Senior Director has overall responsibility of governing and managing major capital facilities and equipment projects up to $200MM.
Responsibilities include Project Management, Design review and approval, technical investigation, equipment selection/specification, project justifications, installation, commissioning, and start- up. In executing these projects, The Senior Director leads corporate and plant teams and coordinates with vendors, with key deliverables to include projects that meet budget, timing, and performance goals.
The person in this position is also responsible for tracking Neogen overall global capital and engineering program to ensure that budget and timing objectives are met.
Additional areas of focus include cost savings; primarily through automation and problem solving.
Must be available to travel about 30-35% to Neogen facilities and vendors as needed.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Plan and strategize global Engineering, CAPEX, Maintenance, and Facilities initiatives, aligning them with regional and global strategic plans and objectives while coaching and managing teams.
Responsible for managing all Expansion Projects and new building projects by reviewing and approving all design phases, construction, utilities equipment selection, building commissioning, equipment transfers and installation.
Manages facilities and equipment capital development and execution, assuring effective selection and implementation of the right technologies; integrates safety requirements and considerations into project design and execution.
Acts as subject matter expert regarding building construction, utilities equipment and facility security, globally.
Collaborates with manufacturing groups to identify opportunities and generate cost reduction results.
Drives focus on direct labor reduction through implementation of automation, as well as improving machine output and reducing time/pack out loss.
Manage and delegate high-impact and complex projects.
Provide strategic CAPEX and Facilities support and analysis for business acquisitions, including risk reviews, insurance, site audits, programs, and procedures.

Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree (B.S) from accredit College or University in Engineering; higher level education preferred engineering.
Minimum of 15 years of profound experience in Engineering, Leadership and Project Management for complex investment projects and global Engineering groups.
Global and intercultural working experience with the willingness for international business trips.
Leadership skills with strong communication and change management skills
Several years of contracting / sourcing / purchasing experience in international markets.
Capex project management skills or related work experience.
Ability to travel domestically and internationally (30-40%).
Proficiency in English is required; bilingual in Spanish is preferred.
