About the Job:

High Level Responsibilities of the role: The Principal Prog/Prof Manager for Lean Portfolio Management facilitates value delivery optimization by ensuring best practices are in place from financial planning and spend, measuring delivery velocity, quality of work intake and efficiency of the various processes within the software delivery lifecycle.

Responsibilities and Day-to-Day View:

Planning:

  • Define and establish the portfolio/product roadmap process in close partnership with business owners and architect leads.

  • Coordinate with Solution Train and PMO to ensure alignment and execution against portfolio priorities.

  • Facilitate and/or participate in Program Sync meetings to track the execution of portfolio initiatives against strategic objectives and funding forecasts and budgets.

Financials:

  • Ensure all pieces of the financial journey stay in sync (planning through actuals) across the financial experts.

  • Implement best practices, manage and read out on time charging to ensure teams stay within forecasted spend.

  • Consolidate forecasts that provide insight into costs and constantly refine those views as work changes on a daily/weekly basis.

  • Routinely create and present status slides to Senior leadership.

  • Facilitate and inspect forecast size/costs for each capability required.

Process and Tooling:

  • Slice, dice and analyze data from different perspectives to identify improvement opportunities or provide data to leaders for decisioning.

  • Identify and implement best practices across software lifecycle.

  • Facilitate automation and common tool use for enhanced efficiency and accuracy

  • Continuously explore improvement opportunities to enhance lean-agile practices and automation within the portfolio.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, IT, or related field (Master’s preferred).

  • Proven experience in Lean-Agile environments and familiarity Lean-Agile frameworks.

  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to lead by influence and foster collaboration.

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment.

  • Experience within high tech, software and/or wireless/telecom industry.

  • Experience in prioritization, forecasting and work assessments.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with demonstrated ability to present complex technical information in a clear manner to peers, developers, and senior leaders

  • Experience in data analysis with emphasis on creating excel/power BI pivot reports/charts etc.

Key technical skills: Advanced Excel skills, Quickbase, MS Project, ADO (Azure DevOps), Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe), SharePoint

Job Contribution:

Expert level technical professional. Advisor on technical knowledge and ATT technologies.

Typically requires 8-10 years experience. Technical Career Pathway (TCP) role.

Our Principal Software Deliv Proj/Prog Mgmt, earns between $143,800-$215,800 USD Annual, not to mention all the other amazing rewards that working at AT&T offers. Individual starting salary within this range may depend on geography, experience, expertise, and education/training.
