About the role

The Communications Manager, Announcements and Crunchyroll News plays an important role in our communications strategy, coordinating between the Communications, Audience Development, Brand Management, Title Marketing, Editorial & Publishing and Crunchyroll News teams. Reporting to our Vice President of Communications, you will collaborate with teams to coordinate global announcements and news processes while standing up publicity for the News team and brand, promoting exclusive stories, working with the News team on appearances, pitching stories, and contributing to new initiatives. In this new position, we are looking for someone with an editorial news vision to coordinate a virtual newsroom of sorts.

• You will manage press announcements for the global Marketing team (Communications, Title Marketing, Audience Development, Regional Marketing and Brand Management) by coordinating, organizing, and prioritizing tasks through precise project management
• You will work with global teams on best practices and improving strategy, identifying areas to improve announcements workflows, and implementing solutions tailored to multiple team goals
• You will map out publicity strategy for Crunchyroll News and other original social media content initiatives, including promoting important editors/journalists, major stories/news/features, using staff to tell the anime and/or Crunchyroll narrative and new News initiatives
• You will develop a cadence of information readouts for global team, including weekly and daily alerts for planning purpose
• You will stay updated on anime news from Japan, track media coverage, and follow industry trends

About You

We get excited about candidates, like you, because...

• 5+ years of related experience in Communications, Public Relations
• Bachelor's Degree in Journalism, Communications, Public Relations, English or related field
• You are familiar with anime, fandom communities, pop culture, current entertainment
• You're able to focus and sculpt communications (spoken and written) to best meet our needs
• You know your way around Google Suite, specifically Docs, Slides, Sites, and Sheets; hands-on experience using project managements systems such as Airtable and Wrike are a bonus
• Your role could involve domestic and international travel

The Pay Range for this position is listed. Actual pay will vary based on factors including, but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The range listed is just one component of Crunchyroll’s Total Rewards offerings for employees. Other rewards may include performance bonuses, employer matched retirement savings, time-off programs, and progressive health benefits and perks.Pay Transparency - Culver City, CA$89,800—$112,000 USD
