Your Tasks - What You can expect as title?
- Prepare and process payroll biweekly, including monitoring file transmissions for accuracy with wage payments, taxes, garnishments, and benefits.
- Process and reconcile tax deposits, quarterly and yearly tax reporting including filing of W-2s.
- Manage the payroll general ledger interface, prepare the monthly payroll general ledger report.
- Report monthly payroll journal entries, research discrepancies or abnormalities and communicate findings to finance.
- Responsible for approving payroll adjustments, reconciliation of corresponding ledger accounts, and posting of necessary journal entries. Communicate findings to the accountant performing the overall bank reconciliation.
- Review for accuracy and process annual merit increases and annual bonus.
- Assist as needed with payroll year end, budget, audit, and GL requests; serve as a backup for payroll tax filing and reporting.
- Utilize Paychex Flex, SuccessFactors/SAP HRIS systems, Microsoft Excel, macros, MS queries, VLOOOKUPs, filters, advanced formulas and pivot tables on a regular basis.
- Serves as the primary contact for timekeeping and payroll related questions. Escalates complex issues to HR, Finance, or Paychex.
- Develop and provide payroll related training to employees and departments.
- Responsible for managing and maintaining the HRIS and Paychex systems. This includes data integrity, system onboarding for new hires, initiating new hire processes, team member status changes, and reporting.
- Collaborate with Human Resources team to configure, maintain, and support all HRIS systems.
- Troubleshoot system problems, resolving system and data errors.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement. Gather and analyze requirements and provide technical advice with integration development and implementation.
- Manage FMLA, STD and LTD leave administration
- Assists with internal and external inquiries related to benefits, PTO, policies, etc.
- Responsible for the organization of all HR records and initial creation of confidential employment files
- Completes, verifies and maintains all I-9 forms and documentation
- Submits online investigation requests and assists with new-employee background checks and drug tests
- Assists with new hire orientations as needed
- Sends termination paperwork to exiting employees
- Serves as E-Verify and Work Opportunity Tax Credit (WOTC) administrator
- Manages education reimbursement process
- Assists with the Learning Management System (LMS)
- Runs various reports relating to state unemployment insurance, disability, IA Workforce Development
- May assist with the complete process of recruiting of non-exempt roles
- Able to perform well in the face of tight deadlines.
