Your day-to-day work will include:

Support Real Property (RP) and General Equipment (GE) audit remediation and sustainment initiatives for the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA). Advise and assist DLA in sustaining compliance for fully auditable financial statement reporting. This involves a detailed understanding of risk and internal control compliance activities to include identifying control deficiencies/ gaps, recommending control improvements, and developing Process Cycle Memorandums (PCMs). It also involves support in activities such as assessing, documenting and resolving Notices of Findings and Recommendations (NFRs) and Material Weaknesses (MWs). Additionally, this includes a detailed understanding of Federal Accounting Standards Advisory Board (FASAB) Statement of Federal Financial Accounting Standards (SFFAS) 54 leases implementation and sustainment guidance in order to advise the DLA on how to effectively account for all lease assets.

Duties and expectations include, but are not limited to the following:

• Analyzing business processes, i.e., policies and procedures for personnel, acquisition, inventory, property, and material management;
• Provide project management support for the design and implementation of the end-to-end audit remediation process as it relates to audit-related activities;
• Reviewing NFRs and working with stakeholders on remediation techniques;
• Identifying financial statement deficiencies and perform root causes to develop detailed recommendations;
• Perform tests to business processes and system controls;
• Assisting with implementation of management solutions, to include developing training;
• Understanding of SFFAS 54, GAAP, GAGAS, OMB A-123, and FASAB.
• Knowledge of Real Property and General equipment auditing.

Experience Requirements:

Mandatory: 15 years of functional and technical experience in related field in one of the following but not limited to: business strategy, transformational change management, human resources, business process re-engineering, project management, process improvement, PP&E, environmental liabilities, actuarial sciences, imputed costs, data analysis, SharePoint design, SAP configuration, supply chain

Preferred: DoD/DLA Financial Management functional and technical accounting and auditing experience in related field preferred, Real Property/General Equipment and SFFAS 54 experience.

Certification Requirements:

Mandatory: Relevant industry credentials

A CPA or similar professional certification (e.g., CISA, CIA) is preferred but not required.

Additional relevant industry credentials preferred (e.g., CISA, CDFM, CGFM, CFE, etc.)

Education Requirements:

Mandatory: Four year degree in relevant technical field from accredited institution.
