Who We’re Looking For

The objective of the UX Product Manager is to work with a cross-functional team to deliver on their roadmap at the direction of the business owner, delivering value for end users while growing the business. The PM will work with internal and external stakeholders to help drive priorities that improve the daily experience of our users. Primary product responsibilities include the Discogs mobile apps and the internal design system.

You are an experienced Product Manager that thrives in driving roadmaps to become reality. You understand what it takes to develop a high quality user experience. Problem solving intrigues you and you are able to make confident decisions based on research and data. Communicating is a way of life for you and you understand that it takes honesty and courage to drive your product forward. You understand that no product is developed in a vacuum and that it takes constant iteration to reach big results.

  • At business owner’s direction, maintains and manages product priorities
  • Works with the business owner to set project goals/KPIs and aligns value to both users and Discogs
  • Runs the execution of projects, driving alignment with cross-functional teams to plan, align, and deliver product and feature launches
  • With support from the business owner and functional manager, is able to monitor team dynamics and problem solve to maintain a highly functioning team.
  • Coordinates with stakeholders such as Marketing and UX to incorporate market and user analysis into product decisions
  • Uses thorough documentation to establish requirements and use cases for the purpose of stakeholder alignment and building epics and stories for the backlog
  • Represents business interests and the implications and dependencies that come from other teams when making product decisions
  • Constantly communicates with stakeholders about project timelines and regularly engages with RACI members to ensure progress
  • Consistently evaluates the backlog against capacity and communicates with their manager and pillar leads about constraints
  • Validates information that impacts scope, timeline, and resources to ensure work is worth doing and can be accomplished
  • Works closely with Product Coordinator(s) and other pillar team leaders to communicate roadmap priorities, ensure day-to-day execution, and coordinate product launches
  • Uses data to recommend, monitor, and track the viability of the roadmap and overall health of the pillar’s areas of ownership
  • Monitors the pulse of the community during product and feature launches
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements

What You’ll Contribute

  • Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) from four-year college or university, or equivalent work experience
  • 7+ years work experience in a product role
  • Professional certification preferred, e.g. CSPO, Project Management, software development methodologies (Scrum, Agile, Lean, etc.)
  • Project management experience and/or certification
  • Ability to effectively present and communicate information to stakeholders and senior management
  • Experience using Product Development tools (Atlassian suite preferred--Jira, Trello, and Confluence)
  • Experience working in online communities and/or ecommerce environments is prefer
