Description
The Flagler College Natural Sciences Department is looking for a part-time instructor to teach one section of our undergraduate NAS 325 Science Communication course for Biology and Coastal Environmental Science Majors in Fall 2025. The possible schedule is Tuesday and Thursday from 2-3:15 pm, but the schedule is possible to change. Course Description: “Communicating scientific information is an essential step in the scientific process. Scientists must strive to communicate their ideas with each other, as well as across academic disciplines. This course will build a wide variety of scientific communication skills, including reading and evaluating journal articles, developing effective oral, written, and visual presentations of scientific information, and interpreting scientific information.”
Qualifications
Master’s degree and 18 graduate hours in a related field. In exceptional cases, outstanding professional experience and demonstrated contributions to the teaching discipline may be presented in lieu of formal academic preparation. Such cases must be justified by the institution on an individual basis.
•Previous teaching experience preferred but not required.
•Ability to maintain confidentiality and exhibit good judgment in making decisions concurrent with college policy.
Candidate must demonstrate a strong commitment to excellence in teaching, effective communication skills, and the ability to work effectively and productively with students.
