About the Role:

 

We are seeking a highly motivated Production Supervisor to oversee the team members and production lines.  This position reports to the Production Manager and will support the success of the production plant by leading the line team in operational activities. 

 

In this role you will be the point person during your assigned shift to ensure that necessary tools, supplies, and equipment are available and properly utilized to perform production tasks. You will also be instrumental in ensuring our quality standards and drive continuous improvement to enhance our production efficiency.

 

This is a 1st shift opportunity.
 

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

• Oversee daily activities associated with the optimization of production factors (material, method, labor force and machineries).
• Responsible within the assigned shift for all production phases within your area of competence (Preparation, Packaging, etc.).
• Partner with the Production Manager regarding resource allocation, and resource management on the lines (changes, break substitutions)
• Follow escalation process, including managing conflicts between line resources, leading disciplinary meetings, and recommending disciplinary measures.
• In partnership with HR, responsible for selecting line personnel, and providing evaluations for new hires.
• Responsible for applying all necessary measures to avoid incidents in the workplace and for providing measures to reduce the absences of line employees.
• Provide insight to define guidelines for skills development for the line employees.

 

Who we are looking for:

 

• Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Previous supervisory experience is preferred; Union experience would be plus. 
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes, machinery, stock management and production models
• Strong experience in production performance analysis methods, and knowledge of production scheduling.
• Strong data analysis skills, and ability to troubleshoot technological problems. 
• Demonstrated problem solving and leadership skills with the ability to direct employees in a proactive and positive manner.
• Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint; SAP experience is a plus.
