Pay 13 

Salary: $85,000 - $90,000

Job Summary

Working as a Senior Sous Chef for Harvard Business School, you will be responsible for supporting the successful operation of the culinary department. This includes heavy food production for the cafe and high level/high volume catering functions. In the absence of the Executive Chef, you will serve as the lead of the culinary department. 

 

This position requires availability Monday through Sunday between the hours of 10am and 8pm. Scheduled days and hours (between 10am-8pm) will flex based on operational needs. 

 

Key Responsibilities:

• Preparation and presentation of high-quality food
• Manage approximately 10 hourly associates 
• Execute and ensure standards of quality, sanitation, company guidelines and culture and met consistently
• Coach and mentor staff
• Assist with managing food and labor costs
• Assist with planning and creating menus
• Rolls out new culinary programs in conjunction with Company marketing and culinary team
• Provide outstanding hospitality to both internal and externals guests

 

Preferred Qualifications:

• 5+ years of culinary experience
• Progressive culinary/kitchen management experience
• High volume, complex foodservice operations experience - highly desirable
• Comprehensive knowledge of food and catering trends with a focus on quality, production, sanitation, food cost controls, and presentation
• Proficient with computers; to include Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Power Point), Outlook, E-mail and the Internet
• Professional communication skills
• A willingness to learn and dedication to continuously improve
• ServSafe certified - highly desirable
