Job Summary
Leonardo DRS Land Systems in Bridgeton, MO is looking for 2 students in their junior year of college majoring in Finance or Accounting that would like to work a year-round internship/CO-OP. Our expectation is that they will work 15-20 hours per week. During the year they could work in our General Accounting, Financial Reporting, Contracts and Compliance Departments. In General Accounting, they will learn how to perform month end closing, account reconciliations, year-end and quarter-end support and audits. In Financial Reporting, they will assist with program support, cost analysis and financial reporting. In Contracts and Compliance students would develop a knowledge of government contracting, overhead rates, and budgeting. These students will have the opportunity to continue their employment with us throughout the summer and their senior year if they choose to do so. We would work with the students to rotate them through the different departments to expand their knowledge of the DRS Finance, Accounting, Compliance and Contracts Administration departments or possibly support Corporate Accounting.
Job Responsibilities
- Perform professional administrative staff duties in support of the Finance and Accounting Department
- Contribute to the execution of projects and organizational objectives such as support month end closing, account reconciliation, and cost analysis
- Create graphs and charts for various projects using spreadsheet and graphics software with direction
- Assist in researching information as needed for projects and other objectives
- Support, communicate, reinforce and defend the mission, values and culture of the organization
- May support staff in assigned project based work
- Ability to interact effectively at all levels and across diverse cultures
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED and completion of at least 60 college credits
- Communicate effectively orally and in writing
- Effectively utilize standard office software and computer equipment
- Proficient knowledge with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
