As a Registered Nurse Level IV, you will leverage your clinical expertise and leadership skills to develop and implement comprehensive care plans for patients. Additionally, you will serve as a mentor to fellow team members, providing guidance and support to ensure the highest standards of care on the unit.

The 2600 Unit at Unity Hospital is a 27-bed, moderate-acuity telemetry unit specializing in complex care for patients with acute stroke, cardiac conditions, and various medical comorbidities. It is a DNV Stroke Certified Patient-Centered Care Unit that provides high-quality, patient-centered care to a diverse patient population with both acute and chronic conditions.

Key Features:

  • Patient Population:
    • Telemetry and cardiac care for conditions such as heart failure, rapid atrial fibrillation, and those requiring IV medications like Insulin drips, Lasix, Heparin, and PCA for pain management.
    • Management of medical comorbidities, including insulin-dependent diabetes and congestive heart failure.
    • Drug and alcohol withdrawal stabilization using the CIWA protocol, with transitions to rehabilitation when appropriate
  • Technological Innovation:
    • The unit leverages Artisight Inc., a smart hospital platform powered by artificial intelligence, to enhance virtual care, quality improvement, and care coordination.
    • Virtual Care Team Model: The integration of Virtual Care Nurses and Virtual Pharmacists supports admissions, discharges, medication education, and patient safety, contributing to improved patient satisfaction and reduced fall rates.

This role is part of the Registered Nurse Level IV / Clinical Nurse IV must complete the following:

  • Complete the Clinical Ladder binder within 12 months of employment

  • Minimum of 5 activities in each Pillar (Leadership, Quality, and Organizational Contribution)

  • 15 Continuing education units (CEU's)

  • 20 Flex items

SCHEDULE: Day/Evening/Night - Every other weekend / holiday

DESIRED ATTRIBUTES:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing required.

  • Minimum of 6 months experience as a registered nurse.

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assessment. Perform initial and ongoing assessment of the patient; demonstrate exceptional clinical judgment and advanced assessment skills; communicate and document assessment with interdisciplinary team; utilize all available resources in order to meet the needs of the patient and family
  • Planning & Implementation. Develop and document plan of care, treatment and services; collaborate interdisciplinary health team to deliver care; maintains an appropriate nurse-patient relationship and provides an exceptional experience for the patient and family<
