Position Overview
Align seeks an Junior Project Manager for IT Infrastructure with 10+ years of relevant professional experience, preferably in a IT professional services or management consulting firm. Candidates should have in depth experience leading large IT Infrastructure projects. Ideal candidates will have experience leading IT Transformation or Data Center Optimization programs. We seek a polished Project Manager that is accustomed to interacting with Executives and can manage key client interactions and presentations. Ideal candidates will have experience working on IT Transformation Programs and will have directly contributed to the "current state" to "future state" infrastructure assessments. Any Data Cent er migration, optimization or consolidation project experience with some exposure to application, workload and/or cloud migration , would be a plus. Candidates must have strong consultative skills and the ability to develop effective working relationships with clients. Qualified individuals will be able to work in fast-paced enterprise-level environments requiring exceptional written, verbal and presentation skills. This is a highly visible role that will have constant interaction with key clients.
- This role is based out of our New York City office. The position in its nature may requires some occasional travel (15% travel)

Responsibilities
- Lead and manage all aspects of large, IT Infrastructure Programs such as IT Transformation, IT Advisory and Data Center Optimization or Consolidation
- Drive technology infrastructure " current state to future state " assessments
- Direct white boarding and solutioning sessions to define expected results of the program or project
- Set project plans and ensure delivery and execution to exceed client expectations
- Execute change control, quality, risk management and communication throughout the project
- Manage project governance
- Run meeting and executive presentations
- Oversee project managers and project teams including; Align, the client and the vendors throughout the project
- Create and ensure quality control for documentation
- Work with Project Managers to develop a delivery plan for all the work streams and e nsure programs stay on budge and schedule and work with Program Managers to b uild and
- Advise clients on potential risk, and manage client expectations
- Continually improve the process and framework and update our migration solution
- Learn our processes and contribute to the creation of statements of work (SOW) to support the sales process
Qualifications
- 2-4 years experience in IT Project Management with a focus on IT Infrastructure Projects
- Some experience within Management Consulting or IT Professional Services firms would be ideal
- This is not an overly technical role, but recent experience with IT Infrastructure Transformation, IT Advisory or Data Center Optimization project experience ( assessments, migrations, consolidations, virtualization, re-platforming projects, etc. ),
- A holistic understanding of IT infrastructure inclusive of server, storage, network, database, systems , DR/business recovery and continuity practices, etc.
- A foundational understanding of public cloud models (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS) and providers (AWS, Azure, Google)
- Some familiarity with application and workload dependencies , architecture and service level requirements
- Excellent communication, organization and writing skills
- Able to generate project status reports and dashboards, meeting agendas and minutes and executive reports and presentations
- Advanced MS Project, PowerPoint, Visio and Office tools to manage plans, charts, reports and documentation skills
