Technical Lead

The Technical Lead will help lead a dynamic and exciting cybersecurity program for the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA).

Duties

As a Technical Lead supporting Maveris programs, you will be trusted to lead the delivery of our IT products and services. In this role, a typical day will include:

• In conjunction with the Government PM, conduct scoping, preparation, assessing, risk management, and consulting on Zero Trust Architecture (ZTA) best practices.
• Assess, evaluate, and make recommended changes to amend the existing ZTA Communication Plan to account for the ZTA activities as they evolve per Department of Homeland Security (DHS), OMB, CISA, Binding Operational Directive (BOD), and NIST directives.
• Assess, evaluate, and make recommended changes and implement modifications to the existing ZTA Concept of Operation, and as well as produce other Standard Operating Procedures and Process Asset Libraries Maps as related to Zero Trust implementation at VA.
• Answer ZTA and EO14028 data calls, updating ZTA related dashboards and trackers, and produce other ZTA metric support as needed.
• Work with the Dashboard developer to ensure we create, manage, and update a ZTA dashboard that will be the single source of truth for all tasks related to EO 10428, OMB M-22-09 and subsequent and forthcoming mandates and Binding Operational Directive (BOD) related to Zero Trust (ZT).
• Provide weekly updates to the dashboard and produce any ad hoc views required by the VA PM and Director.
• Craft monthly white papers and ad hoc requests on areas of Zero Trust.
• Provide oversight and expertise to the assessment team for ongoing ZT Maturity assessments that build a Zero Trust roadmap.
• Provide support developing ZT Use Cases and describing the architectural, conceptual, logical and implementation layer to VA stakeholders.
• Provide support developing Implementation plans, impact analysis and implementation report and test plans that are detailed and focus on architecture at the conceptual, logical, and implementation layer.

Requirements

• Master's Degree in computer science, electronics engineering or other engineering or technical discipline is required.
• 10 years of relevant experience
• 10 years of additional experience may be substituted for education
• Knowledge on EO 10428 and OMB M-22-09
• Experience in designing and implementing systems that meet agency Cyber Security policy and regulations
• Must have extensive experience in Cyber Security Tools, network topologies, intrusion detection, PKI and secured networks
