JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

The Department of Meteorology in the College of Earth and Mineral Science and Professor Ken Davis are searching for an undergraduate Researcher in Atmospheric and Plant Science.

The student researcher will be asked to assist in summer fieldwork campaigns to quantify the greenhouse gas emissions from crop fields in Central Pennsylvania in response to treatments. The successful applicant will assist in our work to collect and analyze field samples via chamber measurements to track N2O and CH4 emissions from crop fields and support related research efforts. The student should be aware that field days will be daylong events to collect data. The ability to conduct strenuous outdoor work for entire days and the willingness to travel to and from the field sites are required. A successful applicant should also have computer-based data analysis skills (e.g., Matlab, Python). Strong communication skills are also required. Training in atmospheric, environmental or physical sciences, plant sciences, or engineering is also beneficial.
