Position Summary:
Sony Biotechnology (www.sonybiotechnology.com) is seeking a Field Service Engineer to work with our flow cytometry team. Responsible for performing installations, preventive maintenance as well as warranty and post-warranty repair services to customer equipment within the assigned service territory. This position reports to the Field Service Manager.
Primary Region: New England MA, CT, NH, upstate NY
Periodic travel to Eastern Canada and other Eastern sub-regions on an as needed basis.
Responsibilities:
Drive Field Service Engineer owned vehicle to customer sites or Company Car to customer sites
Schedule and perform territory service work such as installation and preventative maintenance on assigned instrumentation.
Perform emergency repair visits in his/her territory. Is available to travel in order to help other field service representatives when required
Communicate any product quality issues to the appropriate associates
Interface and work closely with territory sales personnel and Field Applications Specialist personnel
Responsible for account management, ensuring a high degree of customer satisfaction
Obtain and communicates leads, identifying post instrument sales, upgrades, and accessories
Maintain targeted and orderly inventory balance of service parts sufficient to support service requirements within assigned territory
Keep abreast of the basic requirements for compliance in own area of work, and comply with such requirements
Qualifications:
Must have a valid Driver's license
Must hold a valid US passport for travel to Canada
A minimum of 2 years’ experience in field service on medical diagnostic products or operating flow cytometers
An Associate or Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline or military technical training
Strong analytical, problem-solving skills
Strong customer focus
Excellent communicator and great ability to build relationships
Highly organized with excellent follow up skills
Self-motivated team-player
Basic understanding of flow cytometry or related scientific disciplines is desired
Up to 75% overnight travel is required.
Flexibility with schedule, able to handle last minute changes to schedule
The candidate will be expected to work from home
All candidates must be authorized to work in the USA
Computer skills: typing, emailing, use of Salesforce preferred, experience performing customer remotes preferred.
