Summary

As a Sr. Workday Technical Analyst at Hummingbird, you will serve as a key technical contributor responsible for advancing the stability, scalability, and capability of our Workday platform. You will lead technical initiatives and apply deep expertise in Workday tools to develop and maintain integrations, security configurations, and system enhancements. This role requires a strong blend of technical fluency and business acumen, as well as a systems mindset oriented toward long-term sustainability and value.

In this role, you’ll operate with increasing autonomy on complex, cross-functional tasks and take ownership of both ongoing support and technical improvements. You’ll solve problems using a blend of established practices and independent judgment, contribute to enterprise-wide systems thinking, and influence platform direction through recommendations grounded in experience and analysis. Your work will help reduce technical debt, enable more efficient operations, and support new solutions that meet evolving business needs.

Responsibilities

Employment Eligibility: Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.

FLSA Status: Exempt

Compensation: $100,000 - $122,500 per year less statutory deductions

Work Location: This position is remote. You must work from a location within the United States with consistent internet service.

Travel: 2-3 times per year for client visits, training, and company events

Workday Technical Engineering

  • Lead the design and implementation of Workday integrations using Workday Studio, EIB, Core Connectors, and Document Transformation.

  • Serve as a subject matter expert in Workday configuration, driving enhancements to calculated fields, custom reports, and business processes.

  • Configure and optimize Workday security to support evolving business needs while ensuring compliance.

  • Partner with stakeholders across functions to identify technical opportunities that improve scalability and reliability.

  • Anticipate integration challenges and proactively propose long-term solutions aligned to enterprise goals.

  • Take full ownership of assigned initiatives, applying advanced troubleshooting and architectural thinking.

Change Control

  • Independently assess the downstream impact of proposed changes and recommend appropriate technical strategies.

  • Ensure technical documentation is current, comprehensive, and aligned with change management policies.

  • Serve as a key contributor in evaluating and prioritizing change requests, balancing risk with business value.

  • Champion structured change control processes to ensure traceability, minimize disruption, and increase system reliability.

  • Identify areas where change governance can be improved and propose scalable solutions.

System Maintenance and User Support

  • Take a lead role in managing high-priority integrations and resolving complex technical issues.

  • Serve as a go-to resource for advanced Workday reporting and configuration questions across the organization.

  • Translate sophisticated business needs into technical specifications with minimal oversight.

  • Design durable solutions to recurring system issues through root cause analysis and proactive remediation.

  • Elevate team knowledge by sharing documentation, creating job aids, and mentoring others on best practices.

  • Facilitate the continuous improvement of support practices and end-user enablement strategies.

Release Management

  • Lead Workday release analysis and testing cycles, identifying key risks and cross-functional impacts.

  • Manage end-to-end regression testing strategies and ensure readiness across integrated systems.
