Job Description
The Oncology Organized Customer Access and Reimbursement (OCAR) team at our Company is essential for ensuring patient access to our medicines, a key strategic pillar for the organization. Our Market Access team analyzes population demographics and develops innovative solutions to improve access to our Oncology portfolio. As educators and advocates, we engage with stakeholders across payers, providers, channels, and policies to enhance the value of our medicines and support profitable access.
As part of the OCAR team, the Associate Director, New Product Payer Marketing will assist in developing access strategies for our New Products portfolio. This role involves managing early access planning for multiple oncology assets, contributing to projects on list pricing, lifecycle gross to net, discount/contracting assumptions, IRA legislation impacts, site of care considerations, and value messaging for payers and providers.
Understanding that early asset development decisions can shape future access strategies, the Associate Director will collaborate with various internal stakeholders, including Global Access, Global Marketing, US New Product and In-line Marketing, IRA teams, Finance, and our Research & Development Division value evidence teams, to ensure transparency and alignment on access opportunities and challenges.
The position location will be in Upper Gwynedd, PA (Hybrid work model is combination of in-office and work from home)
Primary Responsibilities
Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders (account leads, medical affairs, brand marketing, global marketing & access teams, pricing, regulatory, compliance, legal, etc.) and external partners (agencies, etc.) to assist in managing and developing early access strategies for new oncology products
Support transition planning for products closer to launch, including leading the transition of asset-specific access strategies to the OCAR in-line team and supporting the go-to-market execution
Providing US perspectives into Global Access Teams, new product planning teams, Health Economics and Outcomes Research and business development opportunities as they emerge.
Contribute to the creation and maintenance of access strategies, including:
Evidence generation
Value messaging
List price strategy & contracting options across segments, including value-based approaches
Distribution & pharmacy strategies
Customer segment & site-of-care strategies
Payer policy & pathway inclusion
Provider access & reimbursement
Patient access & out-of-pocket considerations
Impact of legislative policy
Aid in aligning finance inputs for annual and long-term forecasting of new products
Implement pre-approval information exchange (PIE) strategies
Build capabilities through the creation and maintenance of modeling, research, dashboards, and analysis supporting early product access.
Assist with ad-hoc analyses of new product assets
Serve as team lead for market research & analytics, managing the team’s budget and the TBR process
Required Experience and Skills
Minimum of (5) years combined experience in Pharmaceutical Marketing, Marketing Customer Management, Managed Care or Sales
Deep US segment market access experience
Strong strategic thinking, problem-solving, and analytical skills
Proactive self-starter capable of addressing complex problems with minimal guidance
Skilled in managing change, anticipating risks, and implementing mitigation strategies
Excellent written and verbal communication and leadership abilities
Proficient in engaging stakeholders and senior management while fostering inclusivity and diverse perspectives
Strong judgment and decision-making skills with an understanding of corporate strategy context
Knowledgeable about healthcare trends and policy issues and their impact on business opportunities
25% Travel
Preferred Experience and Skills
AD Level of Marketing or Managed Care/Payer Marketing or Account Management
Experience in Oncology (IV and/or Oral), including precision/individualized medicine
Experience with late-stage asset development and/or new product launches
Education Minimum Requirement:
Bachelor's degree (BS/BA)
Master's degree (MBA preferred)
