Planate Management Group (PMG) is a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) headquartered in Alexandria, Virginia, and Orlando, Florida USA with technical support centers in South East Asia and East Africa, that provide program management and facilities engineering services worldwide. Planate is a small business provider of planning, design, infrastructure management, technical consulting, engineering, and construction management services in support of the US Department of Defense (DOD) and its Service (Army, Air Force, Navy, Marine Corps) missions, along with other US federal agencies, all over the world.
We are seeking an experienced Senior Commissioning Manager to oversee comprehensive commissioning activities across various high-profile facilities within the Capitol Complex. This role requires an individual with extensive expertise in HVAC systems, construction management, and commissioning processes. The successful candidate will act as the Commissioning Authority throughout all project phases, ensuring quality, efficiency, and compliance with industry standards.
Key responsibilities:
· Program Oversight:
o Act as the Commissioning Authority throughout pre-design, design, construction, TAB verification, functional performance testing, and project completion.
o Oversee the commissioning process to ensure all building systems meet operational, safety, and efficiency standards.
· HVAC Systems Expertise:
o Provide expert oversight on commercial HVAC systems, including design, construction, installation, maintenance, testing, adjusting, and balancing (TAB).
o Troubleshoot operational issues with building automation and temperature control systems.
· Project Management:
o Develop and maintain project schedules, ensuring timely completion of all tasks.
o Prepare and manage project budgets, monitor costs, and implement cost-saving measures.
o Ensure all work meets quality assurance and control standards.
· Safety and Compliance:
o Implement and oversee safety protocols to maintain a safe working environment.
o Facilitate communication and collaboration with the Architect of the Capitol (AOC) and other stakeholders.
o Ensure adherence to safety, security, and compliance requirements.
· Contract Administration:
o Manage contracts, including negotiations, modifications, and compliance.
o Oversee contractor performance to ensure alignment with project specifications.
Qualifications to be successful in the role:
- Minimum of 15 years of experience in commissioning and construction management, particularly in large-scale projects
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering
- Professional Engineer (P.E.) certification is required
- Certified Commissioning Professional (BCxP, CxA, or equivalent) preferred.
- PMP (Project Management Professional) or CCM (Certified Construction Manager) certifications are highly desirable
