Job Description Summary
The packaging operator is responsible for the setup, start up, adjustment, running, and cleaning or all equipment in the cold and package area. It is their responsibility, under the direction of the packaging lead and Team leader, to insure all packaging meets quality specifications, product temperature, bag code, case code, case condition, and bag length. The packaging operator is also responsible for regular cleaning or validation of cleaning for the product scales, baggers, blueprints, case settler, and sealers in a way that no foreign material is introduced into the product. The packaging operator is also responsible for hand stacking cases on pallets when necessary, regular cleaning and organization of the assigned work area, building totes, blending totes, and reworking product under the direction of the Packaging Lead/Team Leader.
Job Description
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following (other duties may be assigned):
Maintains safe work practices and participates in safety programs.
Performs routine metal detector checks to ensure proper function of metal detectors.
Orders packaging material
Ensures proper container sizing
Records packaging machinery efficiencies, downtime, and fills out reports accurately and correctly.
Responsible for ensuring complete packaging quality of product taking regular checks or weights, seals codes, glue patterns, etc.
Complete CIL’s and centerlines.
Participates in AMD Drumbeats.
Monitor metal detection and reject mechanism.
Responsible for monitoring: line sanitation, ink-jet coder, bagger operation, dyna-pack operation, settlers, and case sealers
