Collins Aerospace is hiring a Senior Supervisor to support our microelectronics operations in Coralville, IA. This position provides direct leadership for production staff, machine operations, and the coordination of production plans, master schedules, inventory levels, and assembly activities. The role focuses on driving process improvements through lean methodologies, guiding and developing bargaining unit employees, and collaborating across multiple functions to meet quality, cost, schedule, and safety objectives.
This is an onsite role in Coralville, IA and is eligible for relocation assistance. This role may require occasional weekend support as needed.
What You Will Do
- Direct support of microelectronics including production staff, machine operation, coordination of production plans, master production schedules, inventory levels and assembly schedules.
- Makes modifications to processes in order to enhance the effectiveness of Industrial Engineering.
- Utilize lean tools and methodology to drive performance improvements and minimize waste within manufacturing processes.
- Responsible for the overall leadership, education, training, and guidance of bargaining unit personnel.
- Interface with all pertinent parties to meet and improve upon established quality, cost, schedule, and safety goals.
- Reviews, establishes, and prioritizes production schedules based on product introduction, efficiency, materials supply and personnel resources.
- Informs assigned associates of production and/or material problems and coordinates with support groups to resolve operational problems affecting schedules.
- Establishes and modifies operational methods and processes by recommending changes in materials, equipment, and procedures; recommends departmental standards and practices.
- Coordinates production activities with other functions such as materials, maintenance, marketing, new product development, customer service, manufacturing engineering, quality inspection, among others.
- Responsible for recruitment, performance reviews, and training needs.
- Performs other related duties as required.
Qualifications You Must Have
- Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience
- Experience in leading people
Qualifications We Prefer
- Direct experience in manufacturing, electronics manufacturing ideal
- Highly motivated and self-directed
- Direct experience in developing and motivating teams and personnel including conducting team meetings and employee performance and disciplinary reviews as appropriate
- Experience with Microsoft office products, SAP and schedule management tools
- Demonstrated ability to instill accountability and drive results within a team
- Experience working a union environment
