About the role

<p>DTU Space invites applications for a senior researcher in applied geophysics, with focus on near-surface geophysical data collected by UAVs. This includes the collection, processing, modelling, and interpretation of data. </p> <p>The division of Geomagnetism and Geospace at DTU Space is renowned for its pioneering work on the Earth’s magnetic field, which pushes the boundaries of both fundamental research and practical applications.</p> <p><strong>Responsibilities and qualifications</strong><br/> Your overall focus will be on the collection, processing, modelling, and interpretation of geophysical data, and on teaching/supervision of students.</p> <p>You will communicate effectively with colleagues and be able to work as part of a team to achieve ambitious goals. You will also contribute to research-based teaching and running student projects in DTU’s Earth and Space Physics and Engineering study programme.</p> <p>For this position the following skills are essential: </p> <ul> <li>You must have experience working with geophysical data</li> <li>You must have experience in conducting field campaigns</li> <li>You must have expertise in data processing and inverse modeling techniques</li> <li>You must have demonstrated the ability to publish at the highest-level in the international peer-reviewed research literature</li> <li>You must have presentation skills appropriate for communicating research findings at international conferences</li> <li>Passion to teach and supervise students</li> <li>Ability to thrive on collaboration and teamwork</li> </ul> <p>You must contribute to teaching at the Department. DTU employs two working languages: Danish and English. You are expected to be fluent in at least one of these languages, and in time are expected to master both.</p> <p>As a formal qualification you must hold a PhD degree (or equivalent) as well as academic qualifications equivalent to those obtained by holding a position as a researcher or postdoc. To be appointed as a senior researcher, you must have completed a didactic/pedagogic education. If you do not have the necessary education, then it is possible to complete this requirement within a period of two years of appointment.</p> <p><strong>You will be assessed against the</strong> responsibilities and qualifications stated above and the following general criteria:</p> <ul> <li>Research experience </li> <li>Experience and quality of teaching</li> <li>Research vision and potential</li> <li>International impact and experience </li> <li>Societal impact</li> <li>Innovativeness, including commercialization and collaboration with industry</li> <li>Leadership, collaboration, and interdisciplinary skills</li> <li>Communication skills</li> </ul> <p><strong>Salary and terms of employment </strong><br/> The appointment will be based on the collective agreement with the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations.
