We’re seeking a future team member for the role of Data Engineer – (Oracle / Snowflake / Informatica) to join our Enterprise Risk Technology, Corporate Engineering team. This role is in Pittsburgh, PA or Lake Mary, FL – HYBRID.  (Candidate must reside within a commutable distance to the office.)

In this role, you’ll make an impact in the following ways: 

  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional team, including product owner, business analysts, scrum masters, front-end and back-end developers
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Consult with internal business groups to provide appropriate application software development services and technical support. 
  • Provide application software development services and technical support in more complex situations. Responsible for requirement gathering JIRA story preparation. 
  • Utilize knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle and conduct reviews of the test Plan and test Data. 
  • Allocate and coordinate work within a team and project. Coordinate the technical design, development, and documentation of cross-functional and multi-platform application systems. 
  • Analyze, define, and document requirements for data, workflow, and logical processes and interface with other systems. 
  • Ensure that the expected application performance levels are achieved by coordinating, coding, testing, implementing, and documenting. 
  • Design and develop backend features and components. 
  • Scale the backend architecture and codebase to support growth. 
  • Reduce the level of technical debt of the backend codebase. 
  • Program well-designed, testable, and efficient code. 
  • Analyze, design, and develop tests and test-automation suites. 
  • Develop flowcharts, layouts, and documentation to satisfy requirements and solutions. 
  • Maintain software functionality and currency, including technical debt and gain. 
  • Participate in code reviews. 
  • Integrate software components into a fully functional software system. 
  • Apply security and privacy principles. 
  • Execute full lifecycle software development and develop software verification plans and quality assurance procedures. 
  • Troubleshoot, debug, and upgrade existing systems. 
  • Participate in deployment process following all change controls. 
  • Provide ongoing maintenance, support, and enhancements in existing systems and platforms. 
  • Provide recommendations for continuous improvement. 
  • Use learning tools to complete both recommended and aspirational targets set in personal development plans. 
  • Leverage existing products and functionality and promote reuse. 
  • Compile documentation written by more senior developers of all procedures used in system.
     

To be successful in this role, we’re seeking the following: 

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience required 
  • 7+ years of experience in software development required – proficiency in Oracle, Pentaho/Informatica ETL tool, data warehousing / data lakes / pipelines, Snowflake, Python
  • Experience with Snowflake Database Technologies, including SQL proficiency
  • 5+ years of experience in Agile methodology including Scrum, for user stories, automated testing, acceptance criteria, backlog refinement, and sprint planning
  • Good to have business knowledge about Credit Risk and Treasury Risk 
  • Does not require sponsorship for employment visa status (including Student Visas) now or in the future, in the country where applying.
