About the role

The Director of Enterprise Data Science will lead a newly formed team driving measurable business value through sophisticated data science and AI/ML solutions. Reporting to the VP of Enterprise Analytics, this highly visible leader will evolve the impact of data science and AI/ML at TR by identifying the highest impact business opportunities, leading the full model development and deployment lifecycle, and evangelizing the measurable business value delivered by the Data Science team.  

About the Role:

  • Leads a global team of newly centralized data science talent (8-10 FTEs)

  • Oversee the design, development, and deployment of AI/ML solutions for various business domains through all stages of the ML workflow, including data ingestion and manipulation, model building, and model operations

  • Identify and prioritize enterprise AI use cases, and define short and long term AI roadmap aligned with broader organizational goals

  • Optimize data science and AI portfolio to drive incremental business and customer value

  • Work with partners across organizations to improve data infrastructure, enrich data and improve data quality to support ML solutions at scale

About You:

  • 10+ years hands-on experience developing data science and AI/ML solutions, including full lifecycle model management and model portfolio optimization

  • Minimum of 5+ years of experience building and retaining a high-performing and diverse Data Science team.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Operation Research, Applied Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science, or a quantitative field. Master’s/PhD a plus.

  • Demonstrated leadership managing high visibility cross-enterprise projects

  • Strong background in Machine Learning with hands-on experience in building and implementing large-scale ML models

  • Expertise with ML modeling techniques (e.g., deep learning, gradient boosting, graph, NLP / LLM, regression, clustering etc.)

  • Strong written and oral presentation skills and able to communicate sophisticated concepts to various audience

  • Able to effectively balance operational and strategic needs
