As our Senior Manufacturing Operations Leader, you will lead daily operations and planning for our advanced material center in Newark, DE. While you'll follow established professional practices and policies, you'll also have the autonomy to make important operational decisions. This role requires sound judgement, leadership, and a passion for continuous improvement in manufacturing operations.

Job Description

Due to the nature of the duties of this position, this role requires the individual to obtain and maintain US Government DoD Security Clearance

Key responsibilities include:

  • Safety and Compliance

    • Lead safe operations within the production facility, ensuring targets for safety, quality, delivery, and cost are met while driving continuous improvement initiatives based on company and industry standards.

    • Champion a culture of safety and compliance within the organization.

  • Team Growth and Development

    • Lead, mentor, and develop both salaried front-line leaders and hourly employees, fostering a culture of growth and accountability.

    • Act as a trusted resource and role model for colleagues, sharing knowledge, leading by examples, and supporting professional development.

    • Collaborate cross-functionally with internal and external stakeholders to drive informed decision-making.

  • Problem-solving and Continuous Improvement

    • Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure success and identify areas for improvement.

    • Apply sound judgement to solve operational challenges, utilizing technical expertise and data-driven analysis.

    • Serve as a subject matter expert in operational best practices and contribute to strategic planning and policy development.

  • Customer-focus

    • Collaborate with customer-facing teams to ensure production aligns with customer requirements and expectations.

    • Create detailed production plans and work with the cross-functional team to proactively solve challenges prior to felt impact.

    • Define long-term operational goals aligned with organizational objectives and strategy.

Qualifications/requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university (or a high school diploma/GED with a minimum of 4 years (Manufacturing/operation) experience + minimum of 5 years (manufacturing/operations) experience

Desired Characteristics:

  • Experience with Composites is a plus

  • 5+ years of leadership experience in a manufacturing or engineering environment

  • Safety-first mindset, ensuring all processes prioritize the well-being of employees and compliance with regulations.

  • Commitment to quality, delivering processes that meet or exceed customer expectations.

  • Ability to drive results and meet delivery timelines while managing costs effectively.

  • Skilled problem-solver with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

  • Strong leadership and adaptability in dynamic environments; bias for action.

  • Experience in aerospace and/or other highly regulated industries.
