As a Non-Certified CS/SPD Technician, you will play a key role in how our operating rooms care for patients. In this role, you will receive ample support, training and education, including knowledge of operating the latest, state-of-the-art processing equipment and sterilization tools and concepts.
A caregiver in this position works days from 7:00AM – 7:00PM.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
Provide safe, efficient practices for decontamination, instrument assembly, wrapping and sterilization of all reprocessed instruments and distribution equipment.
Provide case cart management.
Properly handle equipment, instruments and chemicals while adhering to preventative maintenance schedules and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) standards during the decontamination process.
Perform preventative maintenance.
Scan, sort, inspect and assemble, wrap and label instruments by instrument list as documented in the procedure.
Perform record keeping functions within the electronic tracking system, including processing, sterilization and quality assurance documentation.
Build case carts using electronic preference cards and dispatch them to appropriate locations.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
High School Diploma or GED
Sterile Processing Distribution Certification (e.g., CRCST, CSPDT, CFER, or CER) within 18 months following new hire period
Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
One year of healthcare experience or a similar background in Mechanical/Manufacturing Assembly
Military experience as a Hospital Corpsmen (HM), Machinery Repairman (MR), Aircraft Maintenance Technician (2A3X3), Biomedical Equipment Specialist (68A), Small Arms Repairer (91F) or similar considered
