About the role

The Administrator is responsible for the day-to-day operation of the agency; ensuring the development, implementation, and enforcement of all policies and procedures, including resident rights; planning for and administering the managerial, operational, fiscal, budget/financial issues and reporting components of the agency; overseeing and participating in the Quality Assessment/Performance Improvement (QAPI) program for resident care; ensuring that all personnel are assigned duties based upon their education, training, competencies, and job descriptions; ensuring the provision of staff orientation and staff education; ensuring governmental regulation and compliance; and establishing and maintaining liaison relationships, communication, and integration with clinical staff and services and with residents and their families, in accordance with the philosophy and objectives of Friends Village and Fellowship Life standards.

Essential Functions:

  •  Possesses the technical and clinical knowledge for the day-to-day operation of the unit and demonstrates strong clinical assessment skills and decision-making ability.
  • Demonstrates an understanding of the physical and psychosocial needs of the resident.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of the clinical needs of the residents.
  • Demonstrates the ability to respond to emergency situations in a timely manner.
  • Oversees the physical assessment process with the residents.
  • Administers medications and treatments in accordance with the standards of practice.
  • Documents assessments on the residents’ records.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of equipment procedures.

  • Assess residents in a timely manner prior to admission to Assisted Living units.
  • Completes assessments of potential new residents prior to admissions to Assisted Living to ensure proper placement and care levels.
  • Responsible of informing admissions and billing what a resident’s care level is at in Assisted Living in a timely manner.
  • Assess rehab/healthcare residents appropriately and timely prior to admissions/re-admission to Assisted Living.
  • Performs general service plans for each new resident in Assisted Living within 14 days of admissions and updates same every 6 months thereafter and whenever clinically necessary.
  • Performs health service plans for those residents in Assisted Living who meet the criteria and updates the plans quarterly.
  • Ensures that all residents in Assisted Living are up to date with their monthly wellness checkups.

  • Demonstrates strong organizational and analytical skills.
  • Provides staff with daily assignments.
  • Appropriately communicates pertinent information to staff, physicians and other departments concerning the care of the residents in the Assisted Living and Health Care Unit.
  • Sets priorities and completes tasks by established deadlines.
  • Listens effectively to communications and reports by staff, physicians and other departments.

  • Supervises and provides leadership to the nursing personnel working in the Assisted Living area.
  • Appropriately delegates and monitors tasks and responsibilities to appropriate staff.
  • Participates in the development and evaluation of staff member’s orientation and education.
  • Participates in the annual performance evaluations of the licensed and unlicensed staff working on the Assisted Living and the Residential units.

  • Develops and maintains effective relationships with all individuals through a demonstration of respect, courtesy, and quality services.
  • Demonstrates professional, efficient and courteous telephone manners at all times.
  • Maintains confidentiality of information as required by HIPPA.
  • Maintains flexibility with program and staffing changes.
  • Completes other tasks as requested by administration.
  • Attends or completes 100% of all assigned training classes and/or in-services.
