Job Description

AECOM has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Project Manager to join our Remediation team in our Piscataway, New Jersey office. You will work with a diverse team of technical leaders across a broad range of practice areas delivering remediation consulting services to our key clients.

The successful candidate will assume leadership roles on projects and within the department, and will develop strong relationships with the team, and with clients to enable the pursuit of new opportunities.  The successful candidate will have the ability to communicate effectively with members of the project team, clients, site personnel and office management, and work both independently and as a part of a project team.

The successful candidate will be committed to the team’s growth and lead business development efforts; will rigorously apply safety policies and procedures; will manage the technical, cost and schedule elements of project delivery; and will effectively manage the quality of field efforts and project deliverables within the bounds of the AECOM Quality Management System.

 The job responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Work collaboratively with the NY/NJ Remediation Area Manager and professionals within other AECOM business lines.
  • Develop new business, including marketing and proposing to potential and existing clients, and be integral in process of securing and managing clients and contracts.
  • Act as Project Manager on large, complex projects, responsible for technical delivery, schedule management, fiscal management, client liaison, reporting requirements, and coordination with project team members.
  • Coordinate and prepare written reports, work plans, and technical memorandums; analyze data and develop supported conclusions.
  • Proactively identify opportunities to increase project efficiencies, improve technical methodologies and add value to client service offerings.
  • Assist with development and mentoring of junior staff through mentoring.

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • BA/BS in Geology, Environmental Engineering, or Civil Engineering or related field + 8 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
  • New Jersey Licensed Site Remediation Professional
  • OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER certification.
  • Valid U.S Driver’s License and as a condition of employment, must pass AECOM’s Motor Vehicle Records Review

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 9+ years of experience in Environmental investigations and site remediation
  • Understanding of AutoCAD, AutoCAD Civil 3D, GIS, Bluebeam)
  • Experience in an environmental engineering consulting company along with experience in Environmental investigations and site remediation
  • Seller-doer with business development and client management experience.
  • Experience as a project manager and technical lead on feasibility studies, remedial design, and remedial action oversight, including experience with design and construction of dredging and capping projects.
  • Strong understanding of remediation design, cost estimating and construction.
  • Experience with the breadth of federal and local environmental laws, such as CERCLA, RCRA, & TSCA.
