The 5 East Cardiac Stepdown Unit at Indian River Hospital is an extension of the Progressive Care Unit (PCU) offering mixed acuity telemetry and medical services. As a Patient Care Nurse Assistant (PCNA) on this team, you will coordinate with fellow caregivers to create a welcoming, healing and warm environment. This position offers the ability to pursue numerous educational advancement opportunities, advanced positions and skills development courses offered by Cleveland Clinic. In this role, you also have an excellent avenue in which to start your nursing career and gain Cardiac and Neuro experience in a supportive and innovative healthcare setting.
A caregiver in this position works nights from 6:45PM – 7:15AM.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
Assist nursing caregivers, promote patient comfort and carry out nursing orders
Transport patients by wheelchair, bed or stretcher from the department/unit.
Conduct EKG and phlebotomy duties.
Attend to patient and family needs and problems.
Assist patients with activities of daily living, such as dressing, bathing and hygiene.
Report pertinent information regarding patient
