Supply Chain Sr. Manager (Procurement/Manufacturing)

The Opportunity:

In this role, you will report to the VP, Clinical Services and will work closely with the Clinical Services professionals to serve our customers by performing customized, mission-based lab work and research protocols that help return time back to science.  

What we’re looking for : 

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, business or a related field required. MBA preferred

Preferred:

• APICS/CPIM
• Six Sigma, and/or Lean Certification
• Expert knowledge and practical use of Forecasting and Inventory Planning tools; i.e. Logility, SAP, or equivalent.

Experience:

• Minimum of 7 plus years of progressive job experience in demand and supply planning, logistics and procurement required in chemical, pharmaceutical or related industries
• Understanding of Supply Response for the S&OP process
• Understanding of forecast and replenishment theory, obtained through APICS or similar training coursework.
• Global Supply Chain experience

Qualifications:

Sourcing:

• Responsible for the development and implementation of purchasing/procurement/sourcing policies and administers all purchasing activities, including selecting sources of supply, approving purchase orders, managing relationships with suppliers, and negotiating terms of contracts.

Planning:

• Manage production planning for all Therapak (Buford, Claremont and Czech).
• Provide guidance by setting goals and objectives that ensure overall integration of manufacturing and planning policies, processes, and programs, including customer service and operational efficiencies.
• Determine raw material and goods in process requirements, and other allocations for all manufacturing operations for the unit

Sourcing:

• Leads all Drop Ship, Core, Customer facing, Science Education, Services and other areas to develop both Strategic, Tactical and efficient plans supporting the needs of the customer while keeping the company’s goal and cost in mind.
• Determines best processes to keep the supply chain efficiency by removing barriers from beginning of order until payment is cleared.
• Authority to commit significant Avantor resource on behalf of company.  Closely monitors variability.
• Applies appropriate mathematical and statistical tools to resolve complex business issues.
• Assesses network constraint issues, makes recommendations to reduce or eliminate constraints to leadership team and key stakeholders.
• Analyzes trends in Key Performance Indicators; allocates department resources to drive continuous improvement.  Drives process standardization.
• Closely manages all relevant supply chain cost to maximize working capital. Proactively addresses dead and excess inventory and quarterly returns to suppliers.
•  Negotiates resolution in best interest of the company.
• Manages the predicted impact of new product launches, product promotions, discontinuations, and new vendor on boards.
• Analyzes data to and from suppliers making adjustments systematically or in processes to prevent fallout of data
• Active mentoring, training and development, and performance management of support professionals and supervisors
• Manage a team within a discipline or department, typically comprised of career/intermediate professionals or supervisors.
• Work cross-functionally to support supply chain priorities within the business units and division; as necessary, lead projects that close gaps and capitalize on opportunities.
