Description
The University of Montana, School of Physician Associate Studies, invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant/Associate Professor for the Physician Associate (PA) Program.
The University of Montana PA Program, housed in the College of Health, is committed to collegial collaboration amongst all members of the team, across all phases of the program. Core faculty in the PA Program will work closely with staff and faculty.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in the administration of the program, including curriculum development, delivery, and review
- Coordinate didactic and clinical courses and administer oversight of clinical experiences
- Provide academic advising and assist in admissions and recruitment
- Provide program evaluations
- Facilitate quality learning experiences for students, and evaluate students’ performance in cooperation with other faculty

Position Details
Tenurable Faculty: School of Physician Associate Studies
Title: Assistant or Associate Professor; rank is dependent on applicant’s qualification and experience
Schedule: Full time, fiscal year position
Salary: Commensurate wtih experience and qualifications
Benefits: Medical Insurance/Mandatory Retirement Contribution/Professional Development/Partial Tuition Waiver/Wellness
Primary Duties: Primary duties include teaching, scholarship, and service. Teaching responsibilities may include a combination of required, elective, and clinical courses.
Qualifications
- Master's degree from an accredited PA program or have related health degree (MD/PhD/NP/DO)
- Three (3) years of clinical experience as a practicing provider
- A current PA, NP, MD, or DO license is required or eligibility to achieve licensure within one (1) year of hire
- Maintain National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) certification, if a physician assistant
- Knowledge of educational, management, and adult learning theory and principles, and be able to administer, assess, and document programmatic education trends and data
- Knowledge and proficiency of Microsoft Office software, and be able to stay current with emerging office technologies
- Proficient with online meeting platforms
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous teaching experience or preceptorship
- Master's degree from an accredited PA program
