Description
The Center for Experiential Learning Student Assistant plays a key role in supporting the mission of the Center for Experiential Learning in preparing students for life after Keuka College. This position offers hands-on experience in Field Period, Career readiness, study abroad, peer mentoring/support, administrative operations, project management, and event planning. The Field Period Student Assistant will help with promoting the Center for Experiential Learning resources, provide basic peer support, and represent the Center in a professional and welcoming manner.
This role is ideal for a student who is organized, approachable, and interested in developing communication, leadership, and practical workplace skills while helping peers succeed in their own career journeys.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Greet students, faculty, staff, and visitors to the Center for Experiential Learning with enthusiasm and professionalism
- Answer general Center for Experiential Learning questions and become familiar with available resources for students (training provided)
- Support the Center for Experiential Learning in preparing for campus events, classroom visits, or pop-up tables to promote services and upcoming programs
- Assist students with basic questions about resumes, Handshake, and job search tools (training provided)
- Help maintain a clean, professional, and welcoming office environment
- Uphold professional standards in appearance and demeanor while representing the Center
- Contribute to event planning and preparation, such as workshops, employer visits, and job/internship fairs
- Create marketing materials (flyers, posters, digital slides, social media content, etc.) to raise awareness of Center for Experiential Learning resources and campus events
- Support special projects, data entry, or research tasks under the direction of the Center for Experiential Learning staff
- Uphold a professional and confidential standard in all interactions
- Maintain high regard for student privacy in accordance with FERPA policies and procedures
- Attend required trainings and meetings as to support the effectiveness of the Center and student success
- Regular and reliable attendance during scheduled work hours and assigned events is expected and required
- Perform other functions as assigned
Physical and Scheduling Requirements
- Occasional Lifting up to 25 lbs.
- Some weekend and evening hours may be required

Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
- Must be currently enrolled in an on-campus undergraduate program at Keuka College
- Must be a student in good academic standing and maintain a clear conduct record
- Strong organizational skills with keen attention to detail
- Ability to work under pressure and adhere to deadlines
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Reliable and self-motivated, with a positive attitude and desire to help peers
- Willingness to learn tools such as SharePoint, Handshake, and Canva
- Friendly and approachable personality
- Able to handle interruptions and multitask in a busy environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with customer service, student leadership, event support, or peer mentoring
- A genuine interest in contributing to student support services
- Creative mindset and basic design or social media experience a plus
