Position Specific Description

The Material Project Support Specialist is responsible for the efficient management of materials required for company projects. This involves coordinating with the central warehouse, managing inventory levels, and ensuring timely delivery of materials to meet project timelines. The role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively with various departments.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate with project managers and to understand project requirements and timelines.
  • Manage inventory levels to ensure availability of materials as needed, while minimizing excess stock.
  • Track shipments and coordinate logistics to ensure timely delivery of materials.
  • Maintain accurate records of materials, including specifications, quantities, and costs.
  • Resolve any issues or discrepancies with suppliers or logistics providers.
  • Assist in developing and managing relationships with customers.
  • Participate in project planning meetings to provide insights on material availability and logistics.
  • Travel throughout the FPL service territory may be needed for solar/storm support.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in material management, preferably within a project-based environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Proficient in inventory management systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Attention to detail and a strong commitment to accuracy.

Job Overview

This job coordinates job site set-up, fabrication of materials, and job site clean-up. Employees in this position create workflow efficiencies for large projects by making prudent financial decisions based on business needs, through procurement of non-standard materials.                                                

Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Coordinates and performs job site set-up, to include ancillary support materials and services
  • Coordinates job site clean up, including proper accounting of used and unused materials
  • Coordinates fabrication of material per engineering or contractor specifications
  • Provides product knowledge to determine the best material to use as a substitute, when original materials are not available
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

  • High School Grad / GED
  • Experience: 1+ years
  • Valid Driver's License (NON-CDL)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience: 3+ years
  • DOT Hazmat Trng Accordnce 49 CFR 172.704
  • Commercial Driver's License
